Come on out to Jones Family Farm "Family Farm Days". Bring the whole family and have a fun filled day. Dress casual, bring plenty of water, and let the young ones play. Even though we do not have a Corn Maze this 2011 year, you can still enjoy the "Rabbit Hole Slide", pumpkin patch, corn toss, other games, activities, and Hayride tour of our 74 acre farm. PLEASE NOTE: We do not have any pumpkins for this 2011 Season. After letting the young ones run off a bit of energy, enjoy a 30-45 minute guided hay ride tour through our farm. Here you will see and learn more about how we raise our Pastured Pork, Free Range Broilers, Free Range Laying Hens, Grass Fed Cows, Dairy Goats, and how we grow chemical free produce. We encourage questions and hope to educate others on raising animals more naturally and beneficially for both the animal and the land. Farm animals you will see include pigs, dairy goats & kids {goat kids & 5 Jones Kids}, cows & calves, broilers, laying hens, chicks, ducks, turkeys, and guineas. If you get lucky maybe a wild deer, turkey, or more! Some livestock (mainly chickens) may be more limited this year due to our farm restructure. We have been blessed with a grant from RAFI-USA to build an "on farm feed mill". When this project is complete we will "begin again" taking away much stress from our feed program. We ask for your support and patience as we make these adjustments! Please note: We are not a full time agri-tourism farm, but a real working farm. During the Corn Maze (Family Farm Days)/Hayrides we open our farm to the public for educational purposes. Sites to see include: our organic recycling center, sawmill & sawed products, fields being prepared, tractors, farm equipment, our historic plantation house, and much more. Like most farms, our farm is a constant work in progress. We do not work to make it look "pretty", we work to provide healthy natural products. "Pretty" will come in time! If you miss something in the tour, please ask about it. The only ridiculous question is the one not asked. |
